Why buy a gift subscription?

When we think of an exceptional gift, we think of many factors. Gifts build connections. Gifts create memories. The best gifts say, "I know who you are and what you like. I want you to be happy. I want you to thrive. I think of you always." So, at Thing of the Month, we build our gift clubs around interests or themes. These gift collections can spark a hobby, nurture a talent, or start a collection. These gifts occupy the recipient with fun, for months. They won't be tossed aside and forgotten. Unless you throw one of the flying objects too far.

When can I expect the gifts to arrive?

New gift subscription orders placed by the 15th of the month will begin that month. Subscriptions ordered after the 15th of the month will begin the following month. For ongoing subscriptions, we ship items in the first week of each month.

Why?

We have been at this a year but our other business is taking too much of our attention and TOM has begun to be a neglected child and would probably do better out on it own.

Are you selling the inventory?

We can but as of now we are going to keep the transaction as simple as possible, so the basic offer is with out inventory.

Do you ship internationally?

Our prices include domestic U.S. shipping. At this time our shopping cart also accepts Canadian orders. Please note that Canadian orders will show an additional shipping cost. We are happy to arrange for other international orders. Please us to confirm international shipping costs and make arrangements for the order.

How do you manage the back-end?

Currently we have a pretty primitive setup (post it notes and a small bento database) and would need to be upgraded as the business grew.

Can I chose the items sent in a 6 or 4 month subscription?

Let us choose the items that are sent in abbreviated clubs. But, if you do have a special request, us and we'll do our best to accommodate you. Please note that it may not always be possible to arrange a customized subscription.

Do you charge sales tax?

Virginia residents will have sales tax added to their orders. No sales tax will be charged to orders from other locations.

Can I recieve all items in a club in one shipment?

For some clubs you can choose to buy all items at once. Look for an "all at once" buy button on the Club page.

A letter accompanies the first gift of every subscription. What does that letter say?

Dear __________, You are now a member of the __________ of the Month Club! Each month for the next year [6 months; 4 months] you will receive a different __________in the mail. I hope this gift brings you joy. Be sure to let me know when you receive your first __________. Have fun! Your name.

Can I write my own letter for you to send with the first gift of the subscription?

Yes, of course! After you complete your order us the personalized letter you would like to have sent with the first gift of the subscription. Please include your name and the name of the recipient.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
